Conclusion

Even though whether or not student athletes should get paid is a controversial debate, there are clearly plenty of reasons as to why athletes should be compensated. The average working adult in the United States of America works for 40 hours a week and makes an average of $47,000 a year. The average of a division one college generates over 30 million dollars a year from their athletics. The amount these students make who spend around 60 hours a week with school work and practices, is zero dollars. These student athletes deserve more! They are pouring their hearts, time, and energy into their teams and universities and what they get in return is a possibility of some type of scholarship that is not always guaranteed. The way these kids are getting treated is not acceptable for the work they are putting in, not only for themselves, but also the NCAA, and their universities.
